Senior Accountant (part-time)

Samasource seeks a part-time Senior Accountant to assist our CEO and Director of Operations with all accounting processes at this start-up, including the following:

  • Manage month-end close
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger on Quick Books
  • Maintain and Report on cash
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
  • Manage tax compliance
  • Process client invoices and payments to our Service Partners

The qualifications and experience required are:

  • BS in Business Administration from a four year university or college
  • 4+ years experience in accounting
  • Prior experience processing transactions
  • Prior experience in working in a dynamic start-up environment

Account Manager

Samasource seeks an Account Manager to assist our VP of Sales in servicing our existing clients and building relationships with new ones. The Account Manager will also work with our Service Partners around the world to ensure and oversee delivery of a quality product to our clients. Successful candidates will have several of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a leading university
  • Previous account management/customer service experience
  • Robust analytical and Excel skills

Front-end Engineer

Samasource's engineering team builds innovative systems that support the organization's rapid growth. We need a design-savvy front-end engineer to expand this effort. If you join us, you'll play a key role in building interfaces used by people all over the world to better their lives.

Specifically, we are looking for:

  • Expert knowledge of CSS, XHTML, HTML, DOM, JavaScript & AJAX concepts
  • Enough Javascript chops to take apart framework code (Prototype, JQuery, Closure, YUI, etc.)
  • Slick design skills and a passion for UI
  • Familiarity with Rails is strongly desired
  • Experience with PHP and/or Wordpress a plus
  • Experience with SEO, Adwords is strongly desired

We are currently recruiting for our Fall Associate Program, with positions still available both in-the-field and in our main office in SF. Selected Associates must have shown a demonstrated interest in technology, business, or social enterprise. We currently have openings in the following focus areas:

  1. Associate or Senior Associate, Sales - San Francisco, CA
    This Associate or Senior Associate must be pursuing or have completed an undergrad degree and may have several years work experience or is currently attending graduate school. This candidate should have a demonstrated interest in business/sales and will work with our Sales team in the following areas:
    • Help improve and maintain Sales collateral
    • Research & prepare for meetings with existing leads
    • Generate & establish relationships with new leads
    • Conduct market analysis on new market opportunities

  2. Associate or Senior Associate, Engineering - San Francisco, CA
    This Associate or Senior Associate must be pursuing or have completed an undergrad degree and may have several years work experience or is currently attending graduate school. This candidate should have experience writing code for web-based applications and will work with our Engineering team in the following areas:
    • Maintaining and updating our public website
    • Implementing changes to Work Platform (our online work allocation and management system)
    • Monitoring our Google Ad Words Campaigns

  3. Senior Associate, Service Partner Relations - International
    This Senior Associate must have several years work experience after already completing undergraduate school or be in graduate school and would support the organization by working directly with Service Partners in one of Samasource's many active regions and would have a rare opportunity to learn about economic development first-hand. In-the-field Senior Associates oversee the following activities:
    • Recruiting and screening new Service Partners
    • Conducting on-site training and capacity building
    • Collecting video footage and photographs for use in marketing and communications
    • Interviewing Service Partner employees and management to assess performance against social impact and quality assurance
    • Supporting and liaising with Service Partner management
    • Providing operational and logistical support to the Samasource management team from the field.
